All the pretty little horses

My collection of horse paintings is inspired by the work of German expressionist Franz Marc whose beautiful paintings of horses showed me where I wanted to go with what began as a forum for experiment with colour and media.

Here I borrowed from one of his foal paintings and by exaggerating the movement and colour gave these lovelies a future on the carousel. V. McCoy

My years at home along the Western Shore of Cape Breton Island has been a constant gift of enchanting land and seascape, of magic encounters with wildlife and of gentle contact with an old land and generous people. I offer the work I find here as an answering gift in return for the welcome I feel.
